Soles in Motion Wants You!

The Soles4Souls Race Team, Soles In Motion has officially launched in the Nashville Area and will launch nationwide shortly.

There will be an informational meeting at the Soles4Souls Corporate Offices on Friday, April 11th at 6:00PM for anyone interested in running for an awesome cause. The Soles In Motion Race Team is currently recruiting Team Members and Running Coaches to run the Inaugural San Antonio Rock and Roll Marathon and 1/2 Marathon on November 16, 2008. Training for this event will begin the 1st week in May.

Whether you are a couch potato or a seasoned Marathoner, we have a training program and experienced Running Coaches on board that will help you prepare to run or walk a Marathon or 1/2 Marathon. As Soles4Souls is officially partnered with Elite Racing (Management company for all the Rock and Roll Series Marathons nationwide) there will be a variety of Elite Racing events that Team Members can take part in. The next race on the Soles In Motion Calendar after San Antonio is the P.F. Chang’s Arizona Rock and Roll Marathon in January 2009!

If you live outside of the Nashville, Tennessee area and want to establish a Soles In Motion Chapter in your area, we will have a turn-key program set up to get you "up and running!"

Soles4Souls at the Arizona Rock n' Roll Marathon

Soles4Souls, a global organization that provides free footwear to people in need, will hold a shoe drive at the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & 1/2 Marathon. Volunteers with information on the charity will be at the Health and Fitness Expo today and Saturday at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Representatives from Soles4Souls will staff drop boxes at the expo and at the finish line Sunday so runners and spectators can donate new or gently worn shoes or money for shipping the shoes to needy areas of the world.

Soles4Souls Announces Shoe Drive at the Rock 'N' Roll Marathon

Soles4Souls is continuing its effort to receive 1 million pairs of shoes to be shipped to the Sudan for the "Million Pair March". The Nashville-based charity announced that they will be conducting a shoe drive at the 10th annual Rock 'n' Roll Marathon finish line on Sunday, June 3, 2007 in order to receive shoes from the runners for the charity's Million Pair March campaign.

The Million Pair March campaign is dedicated to raising 1 million dollars to ship 1 million pairs of shoes to the Sudan and the surrounding areas. Soles4Souls volunteers will be at the marathon's Health and Fitness Expo, Friday, June 2 and Saturday, June 3, at the San Diego Convention Center handing out brochures and information on how people can get involved with the charity.
Soles4Souls will be manning drop boxes and the Soles4Souls delivery truck will be at the finish line so that runners and spectators may donate their shoes to this worthy cause. Soles4Souls is asking people to each donate one pair of new or 'gently worn' shoes and/or money for shipping the shoes to the Sudan, a notoriously poverty- and war-stricken area of the world. The first drop is scheduled for the Fall 2007 in the refugee camps of Southern Sudan, with more to follow.

"The Country Music Marathon & 1/2 Marathon was a huge success and we look forward to watching more runners cross the finish line and hopefully receiving their worn shoes to help others in need. We would also like to thank Elite Racing for helping us reach out to the running community and share our mission," Elsey said.

The Million Pair March has already been endorsed by many of Hollywood's celebrities, including Don Cheadle, Jessica Alba, Melissa Rivers, and Scarlett Johansson, who graciously had Reebok donate 2,000 pairs of shoes in her name to the cause.
