In 1989, David & Lydia Martinez felt a calling to provide for abandoned and unwanted children. They sold everything they owned and moved to Honduras where they founded Orphanage Emmanuel.Emmanuel started as a single building with no electricity or running water. In the first year, they took care of 5 children. Today, they serve over 400 children with complete ongoing daily care. That's a lot of feet.
To help with the growing need for footwear at Emmanuel, Soles4Souls sent a container of athletic shoes, military boots and sandals (along with food and other supplies) to the Orphanage. The footwear was provided by Bates, Justin Boots and Grendha Shoes, among others.
