Soles4Souls Hires Daniel Craig as Director of Procurement
Soles4Souls, the new charity dedicated to providing free footwear to needy people around the world, announced today it has hired Daniel Craig as Director of Procurement.
"We are very pleased to have Daniel join our team as Director of Procurement, which is a new position," said Paul Wilson, President of the 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, based in Wadley, Alabama. "His background and heart is a perfect fit for our thriving charity."
"I want 'Servant' to be the term that describes me best," said Craig. "I try to live by the motto 'Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.'" Craig has had years of experience doing just that. He held various senior management positions with different organizations, including an American Airlines Travel Center, The Oklahoma City Philharmonic Box Office, and most recently was Procurement Manager of apparel and footwear for Feed The Children, Inc.
"I heard a speaker tell a story recently about a race that involved special needs children. The whistle blew and the children took off. One of the children fell down halfway through the race. Once the other children saw this, they stopped, turned around and went back to help their fellow competitor. They all finished the race hand in hand. The crowd went wild. Everyone was a winner. This is the team spirit I see at Souls4Souls and I am very excited to be a part of it," Craig said. Soles4Souls was started by long-term footwear executive Wayne Elsey after successful footwear drives for victims of the Asian Tsunami and Hurricane Katrina, which netted over 1 million pairs distributed in less than a year. "We are putting together a world class team that clearly have the vision of making a difference in people's lives with the gift of shoes," Elsey said. "Craig is the kind of person who will thrive as our Director of Procurement because he understands our mission and brings a wealth of contacts and experience to our organization." About Soles4SoulsSoles4Souls facilitates the donations of shoes, which will be used to aid the hurting worldwide. Shoe companies, retailers, and individuals can donate footwear (both new and used). Soles4Souls is a 501(c)(3) recognized by the IRS and donating parties are eligible for tax advantages. For more information, visit http://www.soles4souls.org/ or call (888) 840-7074.
